Grimes, a Canadian musician and former partner of Elon Musk, addressed the growing anti-India rhetoric on American social media, revealing that she grew up in a half-Indian family.
In her post, Grimes expressed her disappointment, saying, “Suddenly, making anti-India energy out of thin air became very embarrassing. They were also clearly planning to do this.”
She also shed light on her upbringing, saying: “My father is Indian, I had a fiery childhood in a half-Indian household. Indian culture mimics Western culture very well.
To suddenly create anti-India energy out of nowhere is very embarrassing.
They were also clear that they planned to do so.My father is Indian, and I had a fiery childhood in a half-Indian household. Indian culture meshes well with Western culture.

Backlash against Indians emerged after the announcement of Sriram Krishnan’s appointment in Donald Trump’s administration. Grimes, whose birth name is Claire Boucher, condemned the racist and bigoted comments directed at Indians.
Grimes, who was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, explained that after her parents divorced, her mother remarried to Ravi Sidhu, a businessman and director of East India Carpets in Vancouver.
When asked how Indian and American cultures blend, Grimes gave a candid answer. One user asked: “Would India be okay if they were so immersed in American culture that they changed their culture so dramatically? Would they care that the two danced well together?” Grimes replied: “We’ve already done this to them. It’s caused them a lot of problems.”
We’ve already done this to them. I caused them a lot of problems

Grimes then clarified that her comment referred to the influx of American devices into India, not the presence of American companies. She noted that if there were more American companies establishing themselves in the country, they could have created additional job opportunities.
No American company has inundated them with phones/weird controlled internet access like only Facebook. The opposite suggestion actually benefits us and may even hurt them in terms of: brain drain
Canada has this problem with the United States. They are taking our best talent at the expense of the country

Another user commented on the serious consequences of people in power expressing anti-India sentiment, to which Grimes responded, saying: “I mean the highest power doesn’t agree and I also see a lot of powerful people disagreeing. It’s good to remember that negative comments They seem louder and more numerous If you haven’t had much exposure to social media poisoning, it’s a good idea to remember that your monkey brain is telling you that you’ll be kicked out of the tribe and die of starvation or rape – which is important for fighting your monkey brain’s social-seeking impulses. Social to stimulate it.
I mean, the higher authority does not approve of this
I also see a lot of strong people disagreeing. It’s good to remember that negative comments seem louder and more numerous. If you haven’t had much exposure to social media poisoning, it’s a good idea to remember that your monkey brain is telling you…

The conversation also veered into the influence of Bollywood, with one user suggesting that she might feel differently if Indian singers started taking over Western music scenes. The user also asked her if she would make it in Bollywood. Grimes responded positively, saying, “I’m literally constantly complaining that it’s weird here not to have Bollywood success in the US. In fact, I’m avoiding working on it. And yes they’re better at singing than me – arguably the best.” “The best in the world. I hardly consider myself a singer.”
