INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — This holiday season, why not add a little scientific magic to your celebrations? Jason Lindsay, America’s master of science, brings us fun and educational experiments perfect for keeping kids entertained in between all the holiday festivities.
Jason Lindsay, also known as “Mr.” He is known for his scientific presentations and enthusiasm. Science” with Hooked on Science, is a nationally recognized STEM educator, multimedia science journalist, meteorologist, and author.
Jason starts off with a great demonstration using dry ice, which is not your ordinary ice! Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide gas, and when placed in warm water, it rises into a thick, frothy cloud that rolls across the room.
Next, Jason shared a classic reaction with vinegar and baking soda. Jason mixed these two household items in a bottle, causing a chemical reaction that filled the balloon with carbon dioxide.
Jason explains that these experiments are not only fun, but they also teach important scientific concepts. It’s a great way to mix holiday fun with learning, all while making memories with family.
However, he reminds kids to ask their parents before jumping into any science experiments!
