According to forecasts by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and NASA, millions of people in 10 US states could witness this amazing phenomenon, making this Christmas extra special for skygazers.

NOAA shared a map showing potential areas where the northern lights may be visible on Christmas Day. People residing in 10 states will be able to watch this celestial event during the holiday season. These states include Alaska, North Dakota, northern South Dakota, northern Idaho, northern Maine, northern Michigan, Minnesota, almost all of Montana, northern Washington, and Wisconsin. People in northern Midwestern states will have a better view of the celestial event.
NOAA investigators have suggested that states in the Northeast and Midwest have a greater potential for seeing the Northern Lights. Depending on the storm’s geometric intensity, the viewing area could extend into New York and central Idaho, according to Forbes.
